I wish to replace the hoses on my backhoe boom at some point, they don't carry them and it's easier and cheaper to get them made up. Have just blown and replaced 2 on the loader, won't be long before others go. However changing hoses on the hoe would be easier being done all together, I'd like new hoses in my hand before i get around to pulling the hoe apart otherwise as with everything else something will happen and it will end up being down for some time.
Is there in any dealer literature, a length corresponding to, or a description including length, for hose part numbers?

I get what you're saying but you may just have to disconnect them all. Draw a diagram detailing where each port from the valve block goes. Maybe pull some small ropes through that you can attach to the new lines to pull them through.

Not going to happen. Kubota is very tight with part information i.e. specs and or drawings. Unless you have a major issue with a part that was ordered new, you will not get anywhere.

Hey Pat,
Do they have the length info in their parts listings or on their computers that you know of? If they do, I might make a trip to the dealer and annoy the Manager and see if she'll help me out.

Please re-read my previous statement. The parts books or KPAD that you can find online is identical as what the dealerships have! Except part number search function.

Even hardware is non descript.

I'm an analyst for Cummins, we use a lot of Kubota engines in our Onan generators and we can barely get drawings of things in our generators from Kubota and believe me it's on a need to know basis.

Kubota has no incentive to release that information since they sell the parts you need.

Honda take a contrasting approach to this issue.

With hoses, for example, they normally tell you internal diameter, external diameter, length and hose specification. Where they do not tell you that information it can be derived from the part numbers which are very logical.

It is one of the many reasons I like their products. And even though I have sufficient information to seek alternatives I still buy such parts from Honda as they are invariably excellent quality.

In my experience Kubota are not free with such information and if there is a logic to their part numbers I don't know what it is.

I ran into the same silly nonsense on the steering cylinder hoses. Couldn't get one made locally unless I took them the hose. There isn't a "local" Kubota so I got royally screwed out of $50 by Ag Power (John Deere) in McKinney, Tx for a 54" hose.

Coleman Equipment up in Bonner Springs has danged good prices AND service. Usually ships same day - and no jacked up shipping charges either. I used them to replace the other steering hose....with part number.....and it was here in 2 days, perfect fit...and a total of $33.

Netxtown, $50 is a pretty good price on a hydraulic hose. Had to have one made up at Napa auto parts. 1/2""×36" long with a couple of jic connectors. Had to get a couple extra npt to jic adapters for the tie in to an air compressor. Bill was $110
