Dash Panel Light stays red

I have a 1994 T 1700X HST riding mower. The dash panel battery indicator light stays on red when engine is running. Battery is new and connections are tight. ??? What to do next??

If the light stays on before starting the engine that's normal. If it stays on after starting it tells you the battery is not being charged. Start by checking connections for cleanliness and tightness.

You need a cheap multi meter to measure the battery voltage with the engine running.

In all likely hood your voltage regulator is no loner working unless you can find a damaged or disconnected wire.

There are a number of versions of your machine so if you get to the point of ordering a new regulator, be certain to have all model and serial numbers with you.
