Looks practical and probably more effective than the factory version.

My oldest son just disassembled those. That guy was an amazing escape artist in his toddler days! Had to build a 6 foot fence just for him!
Neighbor tears ago had twin toddlers who were escape artists. When they escaped, they split up. One went to the elderly couples house to the west and the other went to the east to my place.

The neighbor asked me to lool at something in their house so we went to their garage. He used his clicker to raise the garage door.

When we walked into the house, the twins had dragged a kitchen chair over to the front door. Both were standing on the chair, one steadying the other. The other had a broom handle and was trying to move the slide latch their dad had installed on the top of the door casing 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

Dad's comment was that his next project was to glue the kitchen chairs to floor 😜😜🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

A while back, I came out of the cabin about 5AM to drink some hot tea on the porch and found a 3-4 year old boy in bare feet, a diaper, and a t-shirt standing at the bottom of the steps.
Temp was probably 45*F, and we had no idea where he came from.
He wouldn't talk, so we called the sheriff. (1 hour+ response time)
I started walking around the area, and after an hour, I saw a guy walking around obviously looking for something or someone.
He said the boy was his, but seemed totally unconcerned that his kid had wandered off.
"He does this all the time."
The boy was 1/4 mile from the cabin where they were staying.
I was stunned by his attitude.
Keep in mind we have regular visits by mountain lion, bobcats, coyotes, bear, rattlesnakes, and occasionally coral snakes, wolves & badgers.

My old neighbor was pretty quick to collect the twins when they escaped. One morning he came visiting about 6am in just a diaper.

He ran the door bell and when I open3d the door, there he was.

I scooped him up, wrapped him in my fleece jacket and then took him home. Before I got past the garage door, his momma came barreling around the corner with the other one 🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣

I told her the good thing with them escaping is they literally just head next door on either side of their place.

And they did really try, taking all sorts of precautions to keep the duo contained
