Can't count the time the electricians with one of our preferred contractors would put about a hundred zip ties on the driveshaft of my truck. At first, I got pissed that I had to crawl under there to get them off. Then, I found out if they beat under the truck enough, it would remove a lotta built up dirt and destroy the zip ties. So I get in one day, with who I thought was one of the guilty parties, and we're going to lunch. He starts to giggle. I don't stop. We get up to 50, and he's saying "Aren't you going to stop to see what the noise is?" Me: "Nah, if it's the u-joint closest to the transmission, we'll know soon enough", and then I sped up to 60. He looked behind us and saw the cable ties coming off. Turns out, he was one of the foremen, in no way involved in the prank, and related to the company owner, and wasn't real pleased that their profits were being affected by the prank. That ended the zip ties on the driveshaft. Just needed to take their boss to lunch to solve the problem. Didn't say a word about the prank. He did all the talkin' when we got back to the job site, and I did all the gigglin'.
