I have a b6100. When I bought it I was told the engine had been changed there are no tags that I can see on the engine. What can I look for to confirm it is a d650 engine?
Also, because of the tool man Tim in me,I will keep a eye out for a d950. Are the casting marks ,etc, to identify a d950 engine?

Thanks.... that is a little more information.

In your first post title you ask for difference between D650 and d650..... did you intend to be asking about difference between D950 and D650 all along? D950 is a significantly stronger engine than a d650

My understanding is Kubota makes one of an engine model all the same across the board no matter what it is used in. Sure they might use different IP (one with hydraulic pump drive for tractors etc., one that does not for say portable light towers) etc. or a different intake or exhaust manifold but its still a D650. So you should be fine.

Here is some info on how to identify a Kubota engine
