Looking for some Ideas / Help. We are going to put a D1402 engine our bandmill, replacing the gas engine that is on it. Trying to find a bolt on method for adding a drive pully to the engine. Would like to find a stub shaft like this that would bolt to the flywheel. But after lots of google search, not having any luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Look at the front of the engine, There may be a shaft on the front. You may not want to use it.

Got any Amish around you? The local Amish machine shop runs everything off of a V2203 Kubota engine. They just replaced it after 14 years of running 10 hours a day, six days a week. Has a clutch lever to engage the drive belt. They also supply the other Amish families with a like setup to power whatever they need.

I think the clutch is a good idea. Also, having an outboard bearing will reduce the side load on the engine bearing. I'm assuming OP is planning a belt drive.
I googled 'engine pto' and found WPT Power. I'm sure there are many other companies. Maybe some can help.
