Hi all.
I just broke off the stud that goes thru the boss on the water flange. The problem is that the water flange is behind the water pump on the front case.
There are now two choices, 1 leave it go and hope for the best. 2 suck it up and pull the front case to get at the water flange. Or is there an easy way to get the bolts out without pulling the case.
I was just finishing up a rebuild on this engine and was going over all the bolts and this just snapped off. From the length of the stud it looks to be just about even with the block. It is a 6MM stud.
I have attached a picture of the water flange and the stud. You can see that the stud was cracked for a long time.
The only other good thing is that I haven't added any oil yet.
Thanks
Jim
