My first tractor with a loader was a new B7500. I don't remember the hours it took but the edge showed enough wear to convince me it needed a sacrificial edge ("scrap" from our weld shop). It was something that I've done soon after getting the next two tractors. My only regret is not buying the mag drill years earlier.

When I ordered the MX6000HSTC with the HD round backed loader bucket I added the Kubota bolt on cutting edge to the order for an additional $231. At some point I upgraded the cutting edge to the Everything Attachments version shown in the first photo which cost a little over $500.

When I bought the M6060 off the lot in Sheridan, there was no bolted on bucket edge or holes for one so I drilled 11 holes and installed the Kubota one on the M6060 bucket.

The welded on cutting edge isn't that durable compared to bolted on edges that are typically a lot harder and tougher.

Yep! Mag drills are a wonderful tool to have around. They'll turn a miserable, slow experience into a quick and enjoyable one. Not only that, they'll make sure that the axis of the hole is perpendicular to the surface that's being drilled. So many uses and they don't care if they're horizontal, vertical or any which way.

I would think you would get a lot more milage out of your drill bit with some cutting oil, cheap at Home Depot.
I use a water-based cutting solution from Hougen specifically designed for annular cutters. I buy cutting oil from ACE Hardware that I typically use when running standard drill bits.

Like GreensvilleJay I am also curious, how did you wear down the bucket edge in 26 hour? Not passing judgement or anything, just would like to know so I can avoid such things.

I would go with the BXpanded bucket edge. I have their tooth bar and it makes a world of difference at a fair price.

Removing rocks, removing Chollas and digging up dirt( full of rocks).

I used to work for a septic company and those guys could destroy 2 sets of teeth on a Deere 544 loader a day in this area.

Sand, rocks, and Chollas - oh my...
Nothing like putting your bucket in a grinder every time you take a scoop.
I just deal with clay that sticks like glue in the spring and is hard as hell in the summer.
Post a picture with your solution when you figure it out. (y)

I first added the bolt-on Kubota cutting edge on the BX25, then the standard BXpanded tooth bar. That way I can easily add and remove the tooth bar just by the 2 side tabs without having to remove the cutting edge.
