A fellow in a Facebook group posed this question re: installing a block heater on his FIL's B series Kubota. The picture of the block heater for a Kubota, bought from Messick's, showed this "pellet." No instructions for install.....what the heck is this "pellet" for and where does it go? I'm in the midlands of SC and have no need for a block heater. I'm just curious if anyone knows. FWIW, no one in that FB group has answered his question.

It looks like a steel dowel or stud but I have no idea what it's for. I replaced the block heater on the BX25D that I had for 5 years and don't remember a dowel or stud. Heck, I don't even know what the hose clamp is for.

On some models like the B2601 there is a hose under where the block heater goes, you remove the hose install the plug in the hose and then use the hose clamp to hold the plug in the hose, then reinstall the hose back on the engine.
