SCF,Too old for babies here (glad of that). Grandkids instead. Guess our pets are the kids now. Had to get up at 5AM to let the mutts out of the bedroom, both had to go out and we we, than both just had to have a dog treat. They sleep on my wife's side of the bed unless they have to go out and we we, then it's my side and a cold nose in the face.
Very well housebroken. Neither have ever 'messed' in the house and they know exactly how to get out to we we.
Chewy is exceptionally low priced on treats. Menards is lower on Milk Bone treats when they are on sale. Usually get the big box. Both like big Milkbone treats, big dog size but then both are big dogs.
Great company for us. Cats, not so much...lol
I maintain cats only do 3 things, puke, pee (and poop) and sleep. No companionship there.
DOG spelled backward is GOD. Cat spelled backward is ?
even though you are in Mich & im a buckeye..... LOL (& too old for any more babies)
totally understand that set up. i hate cats. my wife still rescues & gets them fixed all the time.... if a cat even comes on our property? its gets caught fixed & then we try to rehome them.
my little bullydog Poppy is my buddy. she turned 1 a couple weeks ago & got fixed on Monday... laying here on the couch next to me as i type this.
as to a couple other comments in this thread;
living in a small rural farming community like i do........... its very dependent on buy local. we try to do that as much as possible for everything. cars, tractors, clothes, food.
BUT when it comes to something like feeding animals you rescue & there are a crazy number of them moving thru your place?
you have to either save 20-30% on the food/supplys & be able to rescue more animals OR save less animals.
we still pour $$$'s right back into the local Vet, tractor supply, Rural King & every other biz out there with support of this "hobby" of hers.
and we even have to pay an extra garbage fee for all the cat litter we send out.
so yeah for now until they price themselves out: CHEWY is getting some $$'s from us too!
