Yesterday I got to thinking: when was the last time I changed the gear lube ??
Couple of years back I suppose. Well today's a good day to do it. I drain the oil and refill with full synthetic.
Then I got to looking at the old oil and it's got something on it (lets call it like pond scum) that I've never seen
anytime before when I'd changed it....Hmmmm ..... Blower had been sitting over 24hr so not foam.
Not water either so at this point I'm stumped. I do know that when I pull the blower this spring I'll change it out again and see if
it's clear or scummy looking again.
Any thoughts? How often do you guys service the gear box on your blower?
As easy as it is I suppose doing it yearly might be in order.
I brush it off each time it's used and it lives in a heated garage.
