BX2660 Engine RPM for MMM

I hope to mount my MMM this weekend - the tractor and MMM manual doesn't address this directly, just says mm PTO is 2500 RPM -what Engine RPM do I need

For your MMM run it at just about WOT ( wide open throttle) I know it sounds crazy but thats where it should run. Remember diesel motors dont do well when being lugged so your tach should read about 3200 no load if you stay in the 2800 to 3000 rpm range she will do fine. the motor wont lug down, the grass will be thrown clear and the cut will be pretty clean. Also when you engage the PTO for the MMM do it at an idle, so it loads up at low RPM then advance the throttle. The more you play,,errrrr work with it the easier it will be know where to keep the RPMs. Just remember dont lug the mottor

If you want a good cut ....do what Skeets said.....those blades need to spin at a given rate, run them there - the engine will love you for it too.

Ditto WOT I now run mine maxed out and get a LOT better quality of cut. I used to run it at lower RPM's maybe 2500 thinking I'm taking it easier on the tractor but just didn't get the lift on the grass for a clean cut. I also drive forward more slowly. The diesel's don't really bog down so its easy to drive faster and hog the grass but quality of cut again suffers.
