I have a BX25D that will not engage the PTO. THe PTO selection lever is working; the deselected PTO spins freely, while the selected one is locked. the PTO clutch lever will not move. The lever deflects a bit while pushing on it (harder than I think need to). If I push on it and standup, the engine stops.
I took off the level and soaked everything around the plate it connects to at the transmission. I've been trying to pry it to see if any movement is happening, but I can see any.
Can I get pointed in a direction to better troubleshoot this and perhaps get it working?
Thanks.

Very common if you haven't used the PTO engagement lever in a while that the shaft gets stuck in the case.
PB blast or Kroil are your best bets to get it to free up without having to disassemble it.

PB Blaster is the poor man's Kroil. :)

Works decently. I buy it by the gallon. Comes with a metal spray bottle. Cheaper that way, and I find the spray easier to control than the aerosol. I can moderate the spray (or stream) by the pressure I put on the trigger.
