BX2380 engine / fuel issue?

My BX23S had 'fuel problem' ,6 years ago. ran fine, then rough, then yeesh hope I make it hope.....
'Something' was plugging the spigot. Took a leisurely day to remove tank, finally found the culprit. A small, black, sliver of plastic was plugging the spigot ! Now there it NO way I'd been able to see that( black on black is very hard on my eyes) and it was DOWN into the spigot. Compressed air blew it out and into the tank, several flushing with water and it finally came out...now sitting by my computer monitor. After reassembling 'Humpty Dumpty', I added a 'cold coffee mason jar filter' for $20. ZERO fuel issues since ( +-1000 hrs ). BTW get a helper to remove/install the seat and the floor pan. Both are miserably difficult if you're a senior !

haha the “Hope I make it” is exactly that feeling! Storm rolling in and trying to get 5yrds of dirt off the driveway and bam, chug chug rattle die. Mine is random so I don’t think it’s completely clogged. But no way in hell am I removing the tank when there is a much better, easier and guarantee option like cutting a hole in the top and actually looking in it! Then I’ll always have a way to clean out in the future too! Uhg just got the kit on order and will be here in two days! I hope to have a specimen sitting on my desk that I can look and cuss out when I feel mad!

The inside of the outlet fitting on mine was a little corroded also, I used a pick and cleaned it up a little but I didn't want to get crazy and cause a leak and then i'd have to remove the tank. I had planned originally to remove the tank and clean but then I figured why not save myself a lot of time and using access hole and I'll be able to address it in the future easily if it happens again. I did not replace my sender as I don't really need my fuel gauge but the sender is very rusty I did clean it up the best I can and the gauge is working again at the moment.
