I started up my tractor to cut grass for the first time this year. I stopped for a min to pick something up out of the yard. I noticed the tires were wet. Tractor wasn’t even really warm yet. There was Hyraulic fluid pouring everywhere. I could find the leak. After tearing down the tractor. As soon as it’s started hydro fluids runs out the vent on top of the pump. I found the vent hose broken but what causing it to push fluids out the vent

Checked level of oil lately?

Was the fluid clear or cloudy that spewed out?

Anyway of sucking air into the system? Hose loose/split?

Hydraulics working as they should?

The HST section of the trans is pressurized by the hydraulic pump, not high pressure, but enough to keep the HST full and not cavitating. This is charge pressure. That charge flow is what vents into the trans section through the vent line. Replace the hose, fill the trans and everything will be ok

So your saying it normal operation for there to hydraulic fluied flowing through that little plastic hose. I don’t know anything about them that’s why I ask. Surprised that hose hold up when get hot. I will replace the tubing and role with it. It must of just blown apart. Thanks for the info
