When I put my new tractor (15 hours) "away" for the winter there was plenty of hydro oil on the dipstick. I used it a couple of times in January to remove snow. Today I decided to take it out and noticed the hydro dipstick was bone dry. Is it typical for hydro oil to need to be added especially so soon? Or is it possible that there is a leak? I did not see anything on the floor but it is dirt so it is difficult to tell. Should I just add some UDT2 fluid to the inlet the dipstick and keep checking the level with each use? I guess when I add the UDT2 I will see how much needs to be added. Hopefully it is just a small amount.

I don’t know about your BX, but I do know on my B 2910 if I pull out the dipstick for the transmission oil level it is always dry. I need to re-insert it to get a reading and when I put it back in and pull it back out it always shows oil.

I guess I better check my BX 2200 transmission oil level more frequently! I don’t recall having any issues there but I always do with the B2910.

edit: Sure it’s possible you have a leak. And upon reinserting your dipstick if it still does not show any oil it would be wise to add some and see what happens. Also probably wise to measure what you put in for future reference.

X2 on pulling out a dry dip stick on the first removal. I have a B2650HSDC that has 450 hours, and it has been that way from day one. Alway the correct level after reinserting and checking again.

I had some leaks on mine that I could not see easily because of the MMM. The first one was a third function fitting came loose on the transmission and it would spray oil by the cooling fan and it "hit the fan". The second time, there were some plugs on the top of the transmission that leaked and the third one was visible at the FEL multi connector. All the leaks were fixed under warranty. I check the oil (transmission and front axle) every time prior to use.

when you say used it a couple times to remove snow . What did you use [front end loader] if this is the case then, it could very well be a leaking hydralic line, leaking coupler , leaking cylinder.
