BX Fuel line Replacement

I am adding a Raycor R12S to my Bx 1860.
Has anyone tried to access/remove the fuel line off the fuel tank by removing the cup holder.
I do not want to remove rear fender just to replace the entire line.
My current plan is to use the line pre-first fuel filter with a fuel shutoff 5/16 barb.

I would not remove it from that point.

Take the first filter off - place two way barb there - new piece of 8 mm / 5/16 hose to new filter and run it back to pump.

I did this about 7 years ago and it has worked well! Placed the 1/4 turn valve on it right before the filter too.
