BX 2660 wont move!!!

Hello all

First time post so I am excited to see the responses.


I have a BX 2660 that has been a perfect little machine until about a week ago it started making a terrible squalling noise and the front loader and the 3 point lift stopped working. Everything else worked fine. I changed the transmission fluid and filter and it seemed to fix the issue... for awhile. The noise came back and the steering was jerky the front loader would not work and the three point lift would not work. I tried to drive it back to the barn and before I got there the tractor would no longer move in forward or reverse...... so the question is..... IS IT DEAD????

Start by downloading the proper WSM

The WSM shows an oil strainer in addition to a filter. Worth checking that it is clean.

Dave's line of thinking is spot on as usual, and there's many questions about the tractor's service history, fluids and filters used, etc.

The WSM is a good place for you to start, and I would start with the strainer.

Honestly, doesn't sound good....but sometimes there are simple things to fix those things.

ditto...good call. there seems to have been a rash of those strainers getting plugged with goo (sealant) lately. I'd start there as well.

When tractors present with the symptoms you state, it's usually the system is sucking air on the suction side due to, as stated, a clogged strainer.
Other options could be that the pump is going out, But that is a very very rare occurrence on these models, or that the pressure relief valve is stuck open, again very very rare.
