I'm a newby to kubota and it seems 1470rpm's is too fast of idle speed. It sure shakes the hood when I shut it off. Is this the right idle speed? The old diesel farm tractors I've had didn't and my case backhoe I have now don't idle that fast. Do I need to adjust?

Beats me, I can't stand the shaking so I bump mine up to where it runs smoothly.

Gentlemen, I don't mean to hijack this thread but the shaking hood thing can be remedied easily and cheaply. Placing 2 rubber feet, 1 per side, as in the photos in this post from the other forum will stop that little annoyance. I used some feet that I had left over from another project; they were 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/4".

The shakeing hood is not caused be the idle speed. This only happens when you shut the eng off. It's caused by the flywheel not being heavy enough. The cylinders are still compressing untill the eng stops. You can put the rubber cushions under the hood but, the eng will still shake.

Both of our BX's shake at idle; bump up from idle and it smooths out.

The cushions stop the annoying hood rattle on engine start up and shut down.

Just to replace what was lost in this thread when the site was down:

The BX2360 manual says idle should be 1350-1450rpm. Mine is 1250-1300.
