Hi All,

I just joined. My BX 1800 is not cranking over, so not starting or even trying. This happened a couple months ago also. I checked the safety switches, the one for the neutral and pto, with a meter, checked ok. I just called the no help Kubota shop, said it could be the ignition switch, or the seat switch, it doesn't have a seat switch, or he said it could be the brake switch, don't think it has one, but done know. Then he said it could be the starter. Then he said I could bring it in. I could almost bet an undisclosed amount of money it would start every time.:)

Last time this happened, after fooling around for over an hour, I was sitting on the seat, thinking what I could try next. Hit the key, and was moving the pto lever and it started. Till now, been cranking every time.

Just got to thinking, I am doing the same work now as the last time, getting ready to clean out the barn, nearly the exact same spot on the ground...

Thanks for any thoughts!

That's it. The kubota doesn't like cleaning up the barn. Lol. Are any lights lighting up on the dash?

If it's an hst make sure the foot pedal is in the center and not in gear.

I see that you are in Yelm. I live just outside Yelm. If you are game I could come over and look at it. Together we may be able to figure it out. PM me with your phone number and I'll give you a call.

Thank you all for the replies!!

As an update, at 4:30, I went out, stood beside the tractor, turned the key and it fired right up!! Didn't touch anything else, just the key.

To answer the questions, yes, all the dash lites were lite. For some reason the left blinker stays on, and the right one flashes, did this last time too. I am sure the Kubota doesn't like cleaning the barn. :) All it has to do is pull the spreader!!

It is an HST.

I hadn't thought of the pedal being in the middle, but when I started it, I didn't touch any thing other than the key.

Armylifter, Thanks for the offer, soon as I can figure out how to PM, for grins, I will send you my phone #.

I didn't shut it down while loading the spreader, for fear it would die in front of the donks door! It does more idling than work. 1640 hours on it.
