They're not cheap.Just had a dealer quote me $490 to put chains on a 6ft titan bush hog….and I was going buying the bush hog from him![]()
So you like the belt up front ….. not going to use anything on rear…. With belt up front do you get a good cut ? I thought that might hurt my airflow with the blades sucking the grass upwards seems to make a better cut..They're not cheap.
If you decide on chains do rear only. Front chains allow too much debris to be thrown onto the back of the tractor.
I had no idea one set of chains cost that muchThat’s cheap. Was told it’d be $700 for rear chains on a bush hog 316... it’s still rocking the metal guard. I will remove once it’s completely bent and mangled.
I just replaced my worn out front belt....thankfully. It was piling debris on the back of the tractor without it. I have nothing on the back.So you like the belt up front ….. not going to use anything on rear….
I went with factory chains front and rear on the LP RCR1884 with no regrets, but given the cost, I would think it wouldn't be hard or expensive to make your own chain guard. That’s cheap. I use a leaf blower on the tractor and cutter after each use. They're not cheap.

I blow all of my tractors off with compressed after each use before putting back inside.I use a leaf blower on the tractor and cutter after each use.
