I need some help. I have recently bought a B2710 hst. I bought it with a broken hydraulic case. It was cracked where the three point hitch mechanism runs through. I replaced the top hydraulic plate which was a chore in itself. I was told the tractor was backed into something and that is what cracked the plate.Last evening I was loading the tractor and realized the plate is cracked again. I am the only person who used the tractor and the only thing that has been on it is the 500 lb counter weight. I beleive the three point hitch adjustment has failed and caused the three point hitch to come up too far and crack the plate. If this is the case, it an awful design.
I have had John Deere tractors all my life. I have had 2 Kubota products so far. I had an RTV for 2 weeks and hated it so bad I sold it.This is my first Kubota tractor. Can anyone help. I have always heard great things about Kubota. So far I am not impressed.

The first thing you should worry about is the force required to crack the internals/externals of a tractor. I'd bet that when the person backed it into "something" it did a lot more damage than what you can see from the outside. I would guess this is the reason they were getting rid of the tractor. You really shouldn't blame Kubota for damage caused by someone else doing something the tractor wasn't designed to do. Likely something on the inside got bent up, and is causing the mechanism to not function properly, thus leading to the external stresses you can see in the cracked plate.

Thanks,We had the entire rear end of the tractor apart and I don't think the tractor was actually backed into anything. The crack is identical to the original crack. I think the crack is caused by the adjustment somehow. When I called the local dealer to order the plate, they told me this is a common problem. They have one mechanic that works on them because he is familiar with them. They were able to quote a price on it immediately without looking it up.I think is a design problem. The plate needs to be strong enough to with stand the pressure produced by the tractor.
I am hoping someone will tell me how they fixed their problem. I want to weld stops on the back of the rops bar to prevent this but I don't think I should have to redesign a tractor with 220 hours on it.

Kubota's web site say the Maximum allowed weight for a ballast box is 500lbs on the B series tractors.

Good to know. Thanks. I checked the box blade and it weighs 380 lbs. I decided to sell it the way it is.I just don't trust it.
