Hey Orange Friends,

I got my 2370 out from winter storage and started brush hogging this week. Made it about an hour before a fir bough hidden in the tall grass reared it's ugly head underneath the tractor and took out the fuel pump and line.

Have already gotten the old pump out and got a new one on the way. New short fuel line between the pump and the rear fuel filter also. Everything else seems to be good luckily! AND have a skid plate on the way! (yes.....should have done that first thing when I got it!)

Now to the question at hand. After getting the new pump / line installed, I assume that I will need to bleed the line? Best way to get this done? Anything else I should be looking out for or should take care of while crawling around underneath? Only has 33 hours on it so can't be much but while crawl around twice!

Thanks for this and all the other advise / knowledge from this wonderful site!

Thanks RCW

I have been to that site before but they updated with the 2370.

Nice to have the books now.

I assume you are changing both fuel filters while you already introduced air into the system right? If not, do it. It's part of the 50hr service anyway and will save you from having to do it in another 17hrs.

I would just purge the air at the injector pump. The electric pump will prime itself fine with the natural help of gravity with the tank above it. Turn the key forward without starting the engine and crack the bleeder on the injector pump until you get nothing but fuel.

The Operators Manual also has the bleeding procedure, and it is really simple on the BX. Turn the key on for 30 seconds and the fuel pump purges the system.:D

Got it all back together today and got to go out and diminish the mowing.

Thanks for the replies.

Eric - glad to hear all worked out.

Just another thought - the filters, HST fan, etc. are all pretty exposed underneath the BX tractors.

A skid plate is not a bad idea to protect that stuff.

Might not have helped this time, but might the next........

BXpanded and Bro-Tek both have good ones made to fit.

Skeets made his outta a road sign and a BFH, and it works just as well!!:D

I myself haven't done one yet, but it's on the list....:p

I obviously put off the skid plate too long! I went with the BXpanded mostly for its simplicity. Especially for the on / off but also didn't think I needed quite the protection of the Bro-tek.

After crawling underneath to get the new pump on I was amazed at the amount of hoses and connections that are exposed!:eek:

I am also halfway through reading the service manuals. Wow there's a lot of information in those. Great reading.

Thanks again
Eric
