Looking to purchase a flail mower and a local dealer sells the Blue Diamond brand. I'm interested in the model #403730 or 403740.
I did a search here and found nothing mentioned about these. Anyone have any inputs on these?

That is a very heavy mower. Says 2000lb tractor minimum for the 730 but it weighs over 1000lbs. Doesnt seem right.

Have you tried calling their number and asking who might have inventory?

The local Kubota dealer is listed as a Blue Diamond dealer but they do very little in the way of ordering implements from them. I don't know anything about Blue Diamond, but looking at the specs for the 403730 I'm surprised that it's a CAT 1 interface at 1,063 lb and also has 26 hammers on a 80" cutting width. My Del Morino flail has 24 hammers and it's only a 62" cutting width.

Blue Diamond might make the best flail on the face of the earth, but looking at their website I wonder if they actually make anything or simply import stuff. Are they affiliated with New Holland in any way?

I checked their website and there are 3 dealers local to me that sell Blue Diamond products, 2 of them deal with construction equipment. None of them stock these.
I can find no local dealer that stocks any brand of flail mower. They can order whatever brand they sell. They don't appear to be too popular around here.
Not sure where they are made but their website says their implements are made in a 250,000 sq/ft facility in Knoxville, TN.
Which I knew more about flail mowers and what to look for, but I can't find a dealer that has one to even look at. I'd like to touch it before buying it. Checked out a local dealer, not Kubota, and I had to basically explain to him the features of a flail mower - and I don't know much about them!
I've heard good things about flail mowers and wanted to give one a try.

Flail mowers are awesome, well, good flail mowers are awesome. Take a look at Good Works Tractor Co. and give them a call. Courtney will take the time to answer your questions regardless of what you buy or who you buy it from.

Personally, I stay away from Chinese stuff as much as possible and prefer the Italian models made by Befco, Maschio, Del Morino etc. IronCraft is worth looking at too, but some US manufacturers who make some implements here are importing flails from from China and India to round out their catalog. The Italian stuff is obviously imported, but most farmers in the UK are running European flails and few run brush hog type cutters.

Thank you, I will check out Good Works Tractor.
I am definitely staying away from the Chinese brands. Looking at prices it's easy to spot the ones made in China. Which is also why I didn't think the Blue Diamond was made in China, its price is right up there with the European/US made brands.
Don't remember where but I think I read that IronCraft is made by Del Morino in India, so I didn't consider them too much.

Del Morino is made in Italy and I don't know anything about a connection between IronCraft and Del Morino. Courtney knows where a lot of the flails are made. I really like the Centurion Super 158 I have but bought it before I bought the bigger tractor. I would have chosen a bigger version of what I have if doing it again.

You got my interest in the Centurian Super 158. Not the width I was hoping for, but I think a bigger Flipper Super 186 would be too heavy for my tractor.
One of my concerns is hooking up the lower links to the mower pins. I have the Pat's Quick Hitch. These are not a full Quick Hitch, there is no frame or any connections to the top link, they only connect on the ends of the lower links. They hook to the implement from under the pin rather than from the side. No dealer I asked could tell me if they would be compatible with the mower and no one has one for me to look at.
Are you familiar with the Pat's Quick Link and know if there would be an issue, or maybe send me some pictures of the pins on the mower for me to figure this out?

You should have no problem connecting your Pat's system to the Del Morino flail. I can take photos and measurments if it'll help. There are removable pins at all three connection points.

Very big help thank you!
In the top picture it looks like on the right side, the lower link attaches to the pin on either side of the of the bracket, yet it looks like the left pin connects to either the left, center or right side. Is this correct? I wonder why??? Where do you connect?
Also looks like the lower pin on the right side pivots, but the left side doesn't., and the top link is either fixed or slides in a groove. Is that to allow movement of the mower over the ground independent of the hitch?
If you don't mind, could you please get me the dimensions of the width of the opening on the lower right link? That would be my only other concern with the Pat's to make sure it fits in that slot. Everything else looks like it would work. 🤞
Also looks like the lower pins are Cat 1 on one side and Cat 2 on the other and that the top pin is Cat 1. Are my eyes good enough to see that's what they are?
And then, yours looks very clean, do you ever use it? :giggle:
I think that's to many questions, but thank you

Here are some photos taken a few minutes ago. The flail stays on the MX for months over the spring, summer and fall and it's probably my most used implement, although the snowblower and front blade are probably used more often, but not for hours on end. I've even made some money from it using it on a few jobs. I won't say that Del Morino is the best flail on the market, but I would absolutely buy more Del Morino products based on my experience with this flail over the past three years.

The pins are CAT 1 and I use the slot for the top link to allow the cutting head to adjust quickly to the terrain. Spacing between all of the 3-point mounting brackets is around 2-5/16".
