I'm trying to remove the engine plug on my '85 B8200 to install the block heater . I was able to move it about a 1/4 of a turn , but now the tolerances are tight to turn it any more . Has anyone else dealt with this ? the flats are 15/16" wide and the plug is 1 3/8 " OD. Thanks in advance

There are many expert members on this site. I am sure once you give them time to get off work, dismount from the saddle of their Kubota's, login to OTT and read your post someone will be able to help. I have had many of my questions answered here and I am confident yours will be too.

What part and type of block heater did you get?
Is it the 3/4" screw in type?
Are you going to tee off of this fitting?
The threads on the fitting could be BSP threads, not NPT threads.

Ok now that that is out of the way, If you really want it out and don't need to save it heat it with a torch, it's brass it will come right out.

If your short on a torch then use a under sink pipe wrench to grab it.

If you want to keep it in good shape, get a socket or pipe that fits over the fitting, cut the 2 sides to match the flats, then weld two flats plates on it to make a driver to remove it.

I opt for option # 3 . I had kinda thought I'd cut a 15/16 open end wrench ,end off ,and weld it to a bigger socket with a 1/2 drive . Just hoping there was an easier way. Thanks
