I have a L2850dt with a bf500 loader that I bought used several years ago. Last fall, the loader all of a sudden stopped lowering and although it still raises and tilts, has minimal power on the lift. I can get it to lower if I tilt while lowering, but not by straight lowering. I have changed hyd. filter and fluid all to no avail. I have the owners manual, but there is no section on troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi pbunnelle. I see no one has answered yet, and I am no pro on hydraulics. But maybe I can suggest something to help a little. First when you curl the bucket does it have its normal power and speed. If it does and your loader does not lift and lower with normal power and speed, then I would look at your loader control valve. It sound like you have a blockage somewhere that is not letting the oil travel when and where it needs to. Might be a simple fix. There are guys on here who will have a better answer for you. Just give it a bit of time.:D Dusty

Ahhhh... Take a picture of your FEL control valve and post it on line. We just may be able to help. I have the Kubota/Husco valves down to a science.... Butch:D

Thanks to both of you. I will try to get a good picture of the valve and post it.

I have posted a picture of the FEL valve; it is #155 in the gallery, title closeup 2.

I know I am replying to an old thread but I have the same exact problem and was wondering what was the correct fix.

The primary issue with the Husco monoblock Valve is the two spring and detent housings. Water gets in there and you'll never know it and it really corrodes every thing; housings, springs, detent ball bearings and spacers.

They are held in place by a couple hex key bolts. Word of caution.... when you pull the housing cover off for the first time be SURE you wrap a shop towel around it because the corrosion may drag the detent collar off and then the detent bearings will go everywhere.

I drilled a couple 3/32 holes on the housing that allows me to routinely shoot some WD40 in there to displace water forcing it out the bottom 3/32 hole.

I long story short I feel like a fool. The problem ended up being the position of my 3 point hitch. After searching the internet and finding very very little information except for this site I found that the bucket feeds the 3pt hitch after the bucket. So the 3pt hitch was maxing out the hydraulic pump robbing the bucket of the down function. Tilt up and down and boom up worked fine but the down position didn't work except in the float mode but no zero power down. I did notice the line at the rear of the combination valve seemed to be under pressure except for in the float mode where it relaxed and the engine wasn't under hydraulic load. I would have bet the farm that it was the bucket control valve because that just didn't feel right but it looked good when I took it apart (3 times). The $1,200 price tag kept me from replacing it. I wish more diagrams were available online because I might have figured this out sooner.
