Equipment
B3200 w/loader, Woods RC5 brush hog, 4' box blade, tooth bar, B1700 MMM,
Thanks Mike. It’s as big as the budget allows. 27x30 with 12’8” to the bottom of the rafters. 10x10 overhead door with a man door next to it under an 8X10 covered porch. Porch and barn floor will be 4” concrete, 4000psi, fiber mesh and metal wire reinforcement. Underside of roof is coated to prevent condensation and provide some sound deadening. Running 100 amp service to barnExciting times, I hope to build another pole barn in the next few years.
I enjoy seeing other people’s builds as they progress, what are the details on yours?
Thanks,
Mike
I wanted 30x40 but with the crazy prices, had to downsize. The other dimensions were from my BIL’s barn. I liked the height for a lift and we marked out the size on his floor and moved some equipment around to verify space and get comfortable with the overall dimensions.Sounds well thought out, I went with 8’ ceiling height and regular 7’x9’ garage doors on my garage/pole building, still regret both. I plan to go at least 12’ ceiling for a lift and definitely larger door openings on the next build. First building is 24’x40’ still debating L‘ X W ‘ on the next one.
Thanks,
Mike

Skeets, I believe you are retired, and being retired also, I too wonder what a vacation is, BECAUSE EVERY DAY IS A VACATION NOW.Vacation? whats that? Congrads on the pole barn
Agreed!Skeets, I believe you are retired, and being retired also, I too wonder what a vacation is, BECAUSE EVERY DAY IS A VACATION NOW.
I do what I want when I want...so I guess getting employed by someone short term might be a vacation of sorts!
I too look forward to photos of the progress on the pole barn.
Year 7 for me (Retirement), I tell everyone I don’t get a vacation or any days off now.Agreed!
I am in my 23rd year of being.... "on vacation"
I have slowed down a lot in these last several years, but life expectancy tables show that my time remaining should put me over 90.Year 7 for me (Retirement), I tell everyone I don’t get a vacation or any days off now.

I wonder if it is just a western PA thing to refer to the parents as the old man and the old lady? The old man use to tell me he should have stayed working, when he retired he said he dont have time to do anything,, Get up eat breakfast watch the news, get out of the chair eat lunch, watch the price is right, get up eat supper watch the news,, said he didnt have time to do anything![]()
