Hi Everyone,
Apologies if this has been covered in another thread. I'm in patchy reception. It's a great way to be until you break something.

I installed new injectors in the tractor. Basically now I can't get fuel to 2 & 3.
I'll try to cover everything i did.
When undoing the fuel lines I removed number 1 cylinder delivery valve holder not realising exactly what it was. I put it all back together and going by the exploded drawings I believe it is back together correctly.

I got it to start and idle first off but it was making a loud rattling noise. I shut down, pulled the number 1 delivery valve out again to verify I got it correct. the engine was running considerably better with the new injectors except for the rattle.

Once I put it back together again I can only get fuel on injector 1 with the fuel lines cracked at the injectors.
I took fuel lines off the injector pump and definitely only fuel on 1.

I've confirmed fuel flow to the injector pump. Fuel filter looks fine. Can't see any leaks. I've just cleaned it all down.

One thing I haven't been able to find out is the function of the tap on the injector pump.

Guessing I've done something dumb, but at the point not sure what

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The "tap on the injector pump" is the jet start valve, it bleeds air out of the system.

Let's back up a little just to make sure there is not another issue.
Why did you decide to change the injectors?
Was there an issue before the change?
Do you still have the old injectors?
Where did you get the injectors?
When you took off the pipes off the injection pump did you get good fountains out of the delivery valve or valves?

I still have the original injectors.
Had just set valve clearances and still had lag/black smoke when running.
Chinese injectors. Intention is to get old ones rebuilt but couldn't get a straight answer out of anyone so bought Chinese ones.
Number one injector seal appeared to be failing as it was gummed up across the copper washer.
I didn't check fuel flow before changing injectors
It did run with the new injectors in but I pulled No1 apart again due to a rattling

I have a copy of a workshop manual that doesn't have anything on the motor and a manual for the d950 that as far as I can see doesn't have anything on bleeding the injector pump.

Edit I am struggling a bit with the structure of the kubota manuals and finding details.

Lets make sure you have not caused any issues with the injection pump.
Pull all the injector lines off the pump, set the throttle to high and see if all delivery valves put out the same or similar fuel delivery high.
If you want it to spin easier pull the injectors out.
Tell me what you get.

My concern is I've done something to the injector pump when I removed the delivery valve on 1.
Is it possible to over tighten the delivery valve?
I'll have to wait till morning to crank over the motor. We're camping in the shed with the tractor and if I stink it up before bed, the wife may conceal my body in an abandoned mine shaft.
Again thank you so much.
I'll let you know how I go with the full throttle in the morning.

The guy that rebuilt my landcruiser injectors is winding down the business. He was the only one I contacted who replied.
Agree I need better injectors
Oregon Fuel Injection has always done a great job for me.

There is the possibility something is not right it's going to be easy to fix.

My apologies, I didn't mean to ignore your post. I'm in Australia and the postage costs get a bit out of control.
It is hard to find good reliable people.
Thank you
Hi Wolfman
So with full throttle, there is fuel squirting/pulsing out of 1, dribbling out of 2 and nothing coming out of 3 on the injector pump.
Thank you
Oh I forgot your in OZ.
We will need to continue this in a PM so I can give you some detailed advice.
