B7800 ROPS question

New to me b7800 hst. I let the rops down and noticed that they are not tight in the down position. THey have about 2 inchs of play and rattle. Is this normal? thanks

I'm assuming that you have a foldable ROPS.
Yes as it's not meant to be operated with the ROPS down, it's more of a storage feature that they fold, there is no safety when they are down.
