I use my B7800 HST with a Woods Stump Grinder. I have been using for several years, no problem. Today it began jumping out of gear and finally, loud crunch and squealing as though metal was turning on metal. I need this machine back in order quickly. Anyone have advise?

Welcome to OTT, even if a serious problem brought you here.
Digging in is going to be the only way of knowing for sure- either you take it apart and see what is going wrong, or take it to a trusted mechanic or dealer. A lot of people go straight to the dealer, but there are folks out there that can fix about anything.
My wild guess is that it won't be fixable in short order.

I think you are right but I was hoping to find out if this sounded like a known weakness of the B7800 that someone out there could point me to. It looks like a pretty good job getting to the part of the housing that holds the gears and shafts for the PTO on this one. I've not been there before and am too old to get down and handle what looks to me to be a really big job. I may take your advise and get it to a mechanic in the morning so we can see what's needed. Thank you for your reply. Best regards

There may be a common weakness in the 7800, but I haven't heard of it. In general, Kubota's are made similarily- there isn't an inherant weakness in the pto system. They are rugged and reliable. So, it sounds like a wear and tear issue, to me. No matter the color of tractor, they wear out with time. I sure hope it is simple and cheap to fix, but if it were me, I'd expect the worse- anything else is a relief.
