My b7510 with 231 hrs has started to missfire. Its very noticeable when first started. Today I had it idling for a few minutes and when I revved it up to work it it misfired several times as it revved up then cleared out.

I noticed that this small hose that comes off the fuel filter has a split in it where it goes on top of the filter.

Thinking it could be sucking air there?

Is that a special fuel hose and if so what size? Any other ideas?

You more than likely have bad / old / contaminated fuel.
Drain the fuel, replace the fuel filter, then treat the system with a biocide and a cetane booster.

I actually put both a biocide and powerservice inthe fuel a few months ago. I always add powerservice to every gallon. The fuel is R99 and is only a 3-4 weeks old. Thats the only fuel available here. Even red dye is R99. Looking at the filter its spotless.

The rubber hose is nothing that special. Rubber fuel line suitable for diesel is what I would ask for at the dealer or auto parts store. Probably an 8 mm inner diameter but that is just a guess from memory.

I cleaned the lines up and let them dry. The one that comes from the tank to the dirty side of the fuel filter stayed wet. I assume it was seeping there. I figure if it can leak fuel it can suck air. I replaced that constant tension clamp with a worm clamp.

Your local dealer can probably provide the correct hose by the foot.

Thx. Its much smaller than 8mm-5/16 i.d.
It's your choice as always, but I wouldn't bother replacing the vent line (3/16" or whatever it is). Just snip it off leaving a few inches on the filter base and a few on the return line tee. Then find a welding rod butt, machine screw, nail, or anything to fill the hose stubs and plug them off. You don't need that line anyway, and sooner or later it will most likely cause you problems. I've seen too many fuel supply related problems with that vent line on many different model tractors. Have done that many times and it's always worked. Referring to the vent line only. By all means, replace the leaking supply hose.

Let's see what sort of sh-t storm that starts.
