Howdy boys and girls. Never really needed to register here as most of my answers where already a search engine away, but I just brought home a dilemma. A headache if you will. I went to look at a wood chipper and this B7500 followed me back to the truck. Sad eyes... pouting... it was raining but I'm pretty sure one of the rain drops was actually a tear. I dug her up from the swallowing earth below and took her, too.
2001 with 2200 hours and a FEL as well as a woods 3pt hitch backhoe, two hoe buckets and a brush hog. Got her home and started hunting. Found cracks in the bell (clutch) housing and hear some interesting noises. My best guess after much reading is that the clutch housing took excessive stress due to the FEL and the hoe which caused the crack. Once cracked, the clutch started walking. Ate the splines off my clutch disk which stopped motion, probably ate some spline material off the input shaft; most likely opened up the pilot bushing in the crank (I hope not, but I'm planning for it) and probably beat up a few bearings.
I''m on the hunt for a used clutch housing for this machine, and possibly a shaft just to be sure the expensive/important stuff is here. The rest seams easy enough. Who has the decent prices on salvage parts for these machines? I found the part # and both parts seem to fit about 40 different models. I don't want new. Just want it to work so I can see what else pops up when the wheels start turning. On a good note, hydraulics seem to be great! At least I have that going for me. Does anybody know someone that's parting one of these little orange ladies out? I'd really appreciate some help. I already emailed All States and some guy in WA. Still waiting for a reply. Just point and I'll start walking in that direction.
