B7300 lift flow control knob

How do you remove it. Do you take the knob off stem. I see no faster. Or do you take the stem out of lift mechanism. It has a c clip.

I'm going to split the tractor, but I want to remove that plastic piece under the seat. The knob between you legs under the seat keeps the plastic cover from coming off.

My goal is to replace what I believe to be a broken pto fork. I hope I can look down thru that metal plate under the seat to verify.

Warm the knob with a hair dryer and pull straight off.
It takes some force.
