Well, my tired ol B7200 was doing a fine job clearing the 2+ feet of snow we have here in MD until it decided that Reverse was its favorite gear of all and decided to remain there. Of course I was in the road at the time! I managed to do a reverse 180 and get her into the drive but there she sits. The gear shift feels "loose" and it's stuck in reverse. The clutch still works. This is a 2wd Gear trans model. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jay

Sounds like a shifter issue, but I can't help beyond that observation. Pulling the shifter should be easy --- look and see what fell off.

Shifter issue is exactly waht it was. A snap ring that keeps tension on the spring that keeps tension on the shift lever "ball" unsnapped it self. Reinstalled it and alls well.

On a related note, How does on replace the shifter boot? It seems too small to go over the ball on the lower end and the shift knob wont unscrew off the upper end.

Thanks,

Jay
