I picked up my grand paws old tractor that is in sad shape, he is getting up there in age and hasn't used it in years. One brake was lock up and didn't run at all. Got it home and moved it inside to start the investigation process of figuring out what made it get parked to start with. First issue ball nut steering gone out, FIXED thanks to this forum. Now to changing fluids first fuel I removed the tank and the mystery stuff I found in there. Like a grab bag of odd things from the fuel cap gasket to a pine limb and everything between. OH boy I see problems replaced fuel filter and blew fuel line out between tank and filter. Then to the injector lines and bleed the system. Got a solid stream of fuel out of injector one a slight dribble out of number two and not a drop from number three. Any suggestions? Does having them all out at once change the pump pressure where if one is free flowing fuel and that doesn't allow the other two enough pressure to get fuel through them? And how do you test your glow plugs as well? Trying to get it running so everything else can be assessed like smoke blow by and hydrolics Transmission and all. Has a FEL on it as well. Any ideas. And if the pump has to be rebuilt can it be a do it yourself project or best left to the pros even on a tight budget? Thanks for any responses

I'd try bleeding one injector at a time "just to see." You don't want to try fixing the injector pump yourself. The local guru Vic won't even do that.

To check the glowplugs, first make sure there is 12V to the plugs when switched to GP position. Then disconnect the buss to each one and check for continuity through the plugs to ground.

Not to nitpick but the glowplugs should be getting around 9 volts not 12. The resistor (indicator light) reduces the voltage. I just would not want him to think something is wrong if they are getting 9 not 12.

I was wrong on having them all removed at once for bleeding it was one injector at a time. If you say the mechanically inclined guru won't tackle an injector pump on a kubota it is pretty much way out of my league. Gonna clean OT up an degrease theachine remove all the body parts for repair while the tractor is away for repair. Find a good reputable shop and see what happens. Hopefully will be able to drive it on the trailer when we go pick it up.
