I have a few questions on snowblowers for my B7100.
What do you use, front or rear mounted?
What do they cost?
Who sells them?
Thanks, CAE

CAE, first of all, what year is your B7100, ie, does it have a belly PTO? That will make a big difference on the availability of a front snow blower. In answer to your first question, I like (and have) a front snow blower, so that is the one I can speak about. I can't turn and watch a rear implement as easy as I used to. In answer to your second question, it depends on whether you have the mid pto. If you do, new ones are available and priced accordingly. I don't have any experience with them, but I am sure others can chime in. If you don't have the mid pto, then you are looking for a used B748 like this one that I restored:

It uses a front pto that drives off of the front of the crank shaft. They are hard to find, especially good pto's, but are around at $600 to $1200 if you watch ebay, craigslist, etc.

Good luck,
John

Had a used Bervac (51", 52",?) all last winter on my 3 point on my 1980 B7100. Heavy unit but hydraulics lifted it easily. Had a 3 blade 2nd stage impeller & had to use the 2nd speed on my PTO (780 RPM?). At 540 it was useless but @ 780 RPM it would really throw snow. Hard on my neck (bad discs) & on our small city lot it was too cumbersome. Sold it last summer. Tractor is used mainly at our summer cottage & we are not there in the winter at all.

300zx,

My B7100 is a 1983 with a rear pto only.
Your restored B748 is beautiful, nice job!
Do you know if there is a blueprint anywhere for the pto's, I read your post on how hard it was to find a good one.
Since they are hard to come by (B748) I had thought about a self powered one
and adapting it in place of the loader bucket, I know dream on buckaroo.
I will keep an eye on ebay and craigslist for now.
Thanks, CAE
