Have the little guy up on jack stands and pressure washing, greasing and a general checkover before winter. I checked the engine dipstick and whoa, way over full. How the heck did that happen?!?

Always a new mystery around here to solve. But counting my blessings. Seriously, this is one of the more serious problems I've had for a long time with the 'lil faded orange machine.

three things are possible :

1) YOU overfilled it ( we are gonna rule this one out!)

2) the hydraulic pump is bleeding oil into crankcase - easy to do on these oldie but goodies

3) the lift pump is placing diesel into the crankcase.

Look at dipstick under seat - IS IT LOW? if so .......... hydraulics are the problem.

Does the engine dipstick smell like diesel? Is it very thin? IF so - you found problem

I just replaced my lift pump - come to find out my POS gauge was the problem all along.

Check each and report back!
