Hi everyone, the tube that protects the driveshaft to the front axle as long ago rusted off, there's just a bit poking out the rubber boot I would like to put one back. I have some metal tubing that will do the job.
But I don't know how long the original was. Can anyone help me with this dimension:)
Cheers

Hi
It's a 1981 B7100D that's all I know, just the standerd manual gearbox, oh try this image it may help! Also, can I remove the driveshaft and both UJ's without splitting the tractor. I've just removed the front UJ but the one next to the gearbox looks tricky. image.jpg
Thanks for your reply cheers:)

I recently had to split my B7100 for clutch repair. When I re assembled I assumed I could get driveshaft back together after reassembly, but I could not do it. I even disconnected it at the Hydro gearbox (spring roll pin, hard to access), with no luck. I ended up having to cut off a small amount of driveshaft spline to get it together. Now I know it will come apart with splitting tractor. Not sure on yours, but mine would not come off without splitting. My tube also has a seal between tube and shaft at the end near the gearbox to keep crud out of the tube/Ujojnt area. I thought that was a weird if not stupid design for sure.

Ok, 13.5" long. The end is tapered out over 0.5" to a diameter of 1.805", that makes up the last 0.4" of the shaft. Overall length is 13.5" though for my 81 b7100d.
