Yep Messick's and Colman's have both been very helpful with parts.
I got it figured out I think. I had the two larger hoses reversed on the control. That took care of the leak (I think. I'll know for sure once I check/fill the fluid and test again, but it's certainly not bogging the engine now). Also I had the blade lift hoses reversed.
