hello all
i'm looking for a subcompact tractor to mostly be used for garden work, snow removal, & possibly mowing. i'm just getting started & found a B5200 & a B7200. both are diesel, 4wd, have 3pt, good tires & are pretty clean.
the 5200 has 1100 hours & I do not know the hours on the 7200. the 5200 has a 50" belly mower. the 7200 is tractor only. both are asking right at 4K. looking around these prices seem to be in line with the norm. do either of these models have any known problems. anything to especially watch out for?
i'm currently running an Ingersol 4016 garden tractor with 3 pt & hydraulic PTO but i'd like to step up to something with a little more*ss & 4WD.

Not sure on those two models but I would suggest that you take a trip to the dealer snd check out a brand new BX series. They offer 0% financing, and if you’re alright with a low payment you can have a brand new tractor. Just another option.

i'd rather not have any payments. if I can stay in a 3-5K price range I can defray most the costs by selling the Ingersoll.

I think the B5200 with a belly mower had an electric clutch on the front of the engine with a belt coming down and back to the mower deck. The belt came down over two 3" dia. pulleys and the belt crossed over to turn the mower the correct direction.

My opinion: They were good at the time, but now you can get all kinds of mowers that don't require that belt for a mower. Find one of them!

I've got that clutch & belt arrangement on my Ingersoll. I have a good rider so I really do not need another mower. I want a tractor for plowing, discing, tilling, & blade work.
