I just recently bought a B4690 BH and I have had a hard time finding information about it. I have on the other hand, found some information (Owners and Parts Manual) for the BL4690.

Does anyone happen to know the differences between the B4690 and the BL4690?

I am planning on using the B4690 BH on my L2650.

Any advice would be helpful, since this is my first BH.

Thank you

The Canadian Kubota website parts catalog doesn't even list a B4690. They do list 5 different versions of the BL4690.

I assume your backhoe is a 3ph mounted model? If so, I would definitely get the reinforced top link bracket listed in that BL manual for your model tractor. That part is specific to the tractor, not the backhoe so it should be the same for any 3ph mounted unit.

Torch,

Thank you for your reply. I did notice the Reinforced 3-Point Top Link Bracket listed in the manuals, and I was able to get it on order. I figured it was a good idea, even when I am not using the BH. It looks like you just temporarily remove the top 3-Point bracket and added the Reinforced bracket and reinstall the original bracket.

I am still stumped about the difference between the B4690 and the BL4690. Maybe the BL4690 is just a updated B4690.

I wonder if it's something simple, like the different mast bars for the different class tractors? You could carefully compare the parts diagrams in the manual with the parts you actually have to see if there are any differences.

Sounds like a plan. Currently my Dad is picking up the BH this weekend, and I get to see it when I get home a later next month. I can't wait to try it out once we get it connected to the tractor and change the filter and fluid. Dad said overall the BH was in good shape.

I will have to do like you said and compare the parts and the part diagrams.

I got my B4690 backhoe with my tractor in 2002. My guess is the BL is an upgraded model...but just a guess and nothing more.

If you have the serial number you can reach out to your local dealer. I've asked for 3 or 4 operator manuals for used equipment I've gotten over the past year and they have haven't had an issue sending me PDF copies.

Kenrevo,

I have the serial number, that sounds like a good idea. I will give it a try.

Thank you for your help.
