I have a B4200 and was working fine to cut rows between new christmas tree seedlings.

Used of 3-4 for evenings straight worked fine. Went to use again 3-4 days later and it won't start. I can see the glow plug is now NOT turning orange or getting HOT.

Battery looks fine. Will check connections again.

A lot of connections under the dash so to speak. Fuse?

I pulled the glow plug out looks fine?

Any Suggestions you could forward to this orange tractor newbie would be appreciated.

Step one is to remove the ground cable from wherever it is connected to the frame or engine and clean and polish it until the metal surfaces are shiny.

The connection may pass low levels of current but give up under a serious load.
From what you have said I am assuming the starter is turning the engine over. Is this correct?

Plse post some pictures of your battery top plus the injector and glow plug side of the engine.

Would you by chance have an operators manual with a wiring diagram you could post? I cannot find any B4200 manuals on line.

How did you determine the two glow plugs were ok? If it is pencil type, a visual inspection tells you nothing.

The dash board indicator is like a timer. From the wiring diagrams I could find for models close to yours, the dash indicator is not directly linked to the glow plugs however, it does receive its power from the same terminal on the switch. By watching it glow it is like a view into what your glow plug is doing without being able to see inside your engine.

You need to consider investing $25 or less on two tools to help you learn how to diagnose electrical problems. The cost of these two tools will quickly pay for themselves by saving you replacing parts unnecessarily

A test light, enables you to attach the alligator clip to your negative battery terminal, and then, with the sharp probe, check for power in different place. Most automotive stores sell them for about $10 or probably also on Amazon. Called a 12 volt test light.

The next is a multimeter. Again from automotive stores or Amazon.
This item is not the type you want to start testing house hold wiring with as the probes and design are of a quality reflective of the price.

If you get such a meter, dont set the dial to the position in the photo but rather the 20 to the left of center.
