I need to get a bit more anti-freeze in my radiator to lower the freeze point. The recovery tank lid looks like it should life off -but it won't budge. I don't want to break anything. One thing about these little tractors - everything is crammed together unlike my old farm tractors. Does the lid just pry off? How does the tank come off the metal holder? It does not seem to want to come out of there either.
Thanks,
Tim

Can’t help you on the recovery tank... but you can use a turkey baster (or a siphon tube) to suck existing coolant directly out of the upper radiator tank, and then pour in full-strength anti-freeze to accomplish the increased concentration you desire.’

BTW, simply adding anti-freeze to the recovery tank is no guarantee you will obtain the desired-result except over a very long period of time due to the expansion / contraction process. Withdrawing coolant directly from your radiator reservoir will accomplish the result positively and immediately.

[PS: Have you tried twisting the recovery tank cap while prying on it?]

Good point on the recovery tank not mixing with the radiator immediately - I had not thought of that. I will try to draw some out of the radiator and replace with full strength. I don't understand how my 50/50 mix came out weaker than I wanted - I measured really carefully.

And I do have a tester - maybe not as fancy as the one in the link, but I have used it for years.

Had mine off. It is tough but it comes off ok. From what I remember there are a couple locking tabs.

I switched mine a while back from the green to Peak Global extended life so that I don't have to replace the coolant as often.
