I have a 2014 B2620, a little over 400 hours. This summer, a few times the starter didn't crank when turning the key, was able to get it working again by messing with the PTO lever (every time it was in the middle, not accidentally pushed forward or backward). About a week ago, same thing, but I couldn't get it to crank. I found a video about the OC control box (picture attached) on the left side under the dash cover and how to bypass all the safety switches, I did that, I removed the OC control box entirely, with the black-with-yellow and black-with-white wires jumped together.

Now the tractor cranks, but doesn't start. I also attached the simplified diagram of the OC control box that someone drew, I don't see anything suspicious with having the OC control box removed, but I'm wondering if I inadvertently disabled something, perhaps the glow plugs or fuel solenoid by removing the control box that prevents the tractor to start.

I'm not mechanically very savvy, would need some steps to further troubleshoot, any help will be greatly appreciated!

You need to fix that right before you or someone else get hurt, or worse. Do you have a WorkShop Manual? There's one at KubotaBooks. There are 4 inputs that must have 12v present from the various safeties to permit start. More than likely, one of them doesn't have 12v and that'll lead you to the safety that's at fault.

This reminds me of a great line from Monsters Inc, sung by Billy Crystal!
"Put that thing back where it came from"

Yep, Use the WSM to fix it properly!
Look at the envelope top right of your screen. ;)

Thank you, the workshop manual helped me to locate a blown fuse in the starter circuit, after replacing that, voila, the tractor starts again. Gotta love that sometimes big problems have simple fixes :) Thanks again.

My Kubota has only two safety switches: The Gear Range Selector Lever must be in Neutral. The PTO selector must be Off.

I didn’t know this when I first acquired it and it got to where it wouldn’t “crank” unless I “jiggled” the gear-range-selector-lever. Digging around beneath the deck I discovered the safety-switch attached to it….and I simply grabbed a short piece of wire and crimped two spade connectors to each end, making it into a jumper that by-passed that switch.
No more start problem for me.

Then, one day my son-in-law wanted to raise the Front End Loader bucket without moving the tractor….and he walked to the right side of the tractor, turned the key “on” and to the “start” position….and the tractor right main wheel tried to run-over him.
If it had started, it Would Have run over him and crashed into my 1953 Cessna 170.

My son in law would have deserved it … but that award-winning restored, classic-airplane was made of Un-obtainium parts and are priced sky-high IF you can find them or if they cannot be hand-made by one of the few rare experts remaining in the world.

I have removed my safety-switch jumper-wire and cleaned the safety-switch with contact-cleaner and gave it a shot of WD-40, and it has worked properly ever-since, and the tractor must be in a safe, neutral gear if/when someone who doesn’t know how dangeroud that thing is when they want to start it.
