Bought the B2601 with 60'mmm and 4' box blade. It had a FEL435 already installed. They deliver the tractor as the wife did the 0% financing. I receive a bill today for $5181.60 for FEL, 54" quick attach bucket, installation, shipping and taxes. When I built the tractor on Kubota website it shows the loader at $3122 and the bucket at $473 which equals $3595 so shipping, installation and taxes adds another $1586 Does this price sound correct?
I did not sign anything on FEL and feel like taking it off and bringing it back to them.

$1,500 seems like a pretty big gap, but, you figure probably $500-$1000 in labor, plus shipping, plus tax and I wouldn't be surprised.

As far as returning it, you could ask to work with them on the return. I'm guessing somewhere your wife signed a document outlining what was coming with the tractor (and it said FEL)?

We bought B2601, 60" mmm and box blade. They already had a FEL on tractor and they said to try it and see if we like. Well being used to my L4740 it would be okay for small jobs under Large Live Oak Trees where the B series could fit. When I called them expecting to pay 3500 plus tax and found out it was 4800 plus tax I told them I do not want it. Well now it is a big ordeal to remove FEL and carriage as this changes where the mmm connects etc. I want to pay them a fair price, not have them come PU tractor and charge $500 dollars for removal. Attached is contract it clearly shows no FEL.

The loader valve comes with the tractor, it doesnt look like they charged labor or shipping on mower so why the loader?

Exactly my point. I think they gave me a fair price on the tractor. i want to pay the fair price for FEL. If others have the LA435 with 54” quick attach bucket and paid 4800 plus tax, I will bite the bullet. But otherwise I will write a check for 3500 plus 7.5% tax and mail it to them. A wrong person could say it came and was on tractor when delivered and owe nothing. But you never come out ahead by cheating!

Three years ago the same loader but with the pin on bucket was $3000 with my b2601. So if you can get the quick attach set up $3500 I would jump on it

Ask them for a breakdown on the price so you can see where the money went. Since it's not on the invoice, then you don't have the breakdown, and you probably never negotiated on it. Seems to me it's more work for them to take it off than it is to leave it on - i.e. it didn't cost them labour to put it on, nor shipping - in fact it will cost them labour and shipping to take it off. If you say "look, I figured at $3,500 it was a reasonable price so I let you leave it on, but at $5K it's looking pretty expensive" they'll either come take it off, or they'll cut you a deal.

Hi Lakebuster, I just found my invoice for my B2601 purchased 5-13-2021. The tractor was$14,600 ,the 60" MMM was $2,500, and the LA434 loader with bucket and the quick attach bucket connect ,and the older hydraulic couplers (not quicktach or whatever its called) was $4,000. There were over $200 in additional fees related to the financing. All told $21,100 + $1,279 State sales tax + $200 plus fees = $22,604.50. I hope that helps. I liked the guy I bought it from and didn't even dicker on the price. I use the loader more than I had anticipated. I have about a 2 1/2 acre suburban yard to maintain. Mostly mowing. I work in financial services and have renovated 4 properties in the last 15 years and I always ask "How much?". If you don't ask this you are most certainly going to be taken advantage of when dealing with contractors. Its an open invitation for many to maximize their income. The courts are filled with folks who failed to ask "How much?" Legally I don't think you are obligated to purchase the loader. I would offer $4,000 and tell him you won't divulge his identity on this forum (a perceived threat). They hate bad publicity. Good luck .

Mine was ordered in January and delivered end of may. B2601 14,600. Loader 3,200 with quick detach 60" bucket. With rebates it was 16,750 delivered with rimguard in tires and no tax. It got a little more expensive because I added the 60 in grapple. With grapple and 3rd function installed it was 19,450.
That price for the loader and installation sounds ridiculous.

Mine did not break down the price of the bucket itself so I cannot tell you the price difference between the 60 and 54 bucket. But it was $3200 all together.

I would work hard to come to an agreement on what I believe to be a fair price. If they are unwilling to come to terms I would give them a date and time that they could come to my location and retrieve their property at their cost. I would also inform them that after "X" date I would begin accessing a storage fee up and to include the total value of the device over "Y" timeframe. Ball in their court.

They told me the exact opposite. To come and pick up loader, remove loader-sub frame from tractor and install new mmm front arm connections they want me to pay $500. Loader is off of tractor. I can remove subframe and install mmm mower connectors myself, but they said no.

How did you not know the price of something before it was delivered to you? That FEL should have been on the purchase contract if you were getting it with the machine purchase. You really don't have much recourse to negotiate...they can sell that FEL to someone else in a couple of days. The time to negotiate was at purchase.

Long story short my wife is friends with the Owners. It was already attached to B2601 so we bought the tractor, mmm and 4’ box blade and I said I would try the FEL. Step forward a day, when I call and was told $4800 by the elder owners Son and then girlfriend. I do not have it in writing but when I asked the cost before delivery I was told $3500. When I called to say I would take it, the price jumped to $4800. I refuse to pay that amount and also refuse to pay $500 to have it removed.

Do you have a contract that explains the process of the " borrow" with a description of your obligations? If so then you will have to follow that contract. If not then you do not have a meeting of the minds and it would be reasonable to believe that you had the expectation that if you did not want the loader they would come and retrieve the removable portion of the loader with no other obligations or modifications needed to the delivered unit. Your purchase contract explains what was delivered and what you paid for and that is a contract. I stand by my earlier comment try to work with them else they have the problem without a contract for the "Borrow".

Ouch…sometimes ”friends” aren’t a good thing. Price of steel is jumping every week or so. Sounds like you are paying $4800 Or $500 to get nothing. Sucks.

Well we came to a mutual agreement. By the time I added warranty and taxes I was back at close to 4800!
