The other day while working on my wood splitter I had it elevated with the FEL. About every five minutes I had to start the tractor and raise the FEL up again. Well that got annoying so I left the tractor running and the FEL continued drifting down at about the same rate. There are no obvious leaks. Is this a concern or normal. Probably the first time I have left anything of significant weight elevated. Tractor is 15months old 120hrs. 50hr service completed about this time last year with new fluids and filters. Thank you

From reading your post I assume that the bucket, although carrying a weight, did not drift and only the lift arms did. Is this correct?

If it is correct, temporarily swap the lift arm hoses for the bucket hose using the quick connects at the loader valve to see if the drifting stops or continues.

Usually the problem lies outside the loader valve and is internal to the cylinder(s) but this simple test will confirm the valve is not the problem.

There is a proven test procedure for the cylinders should you get to that point.

Just curious, how much is it drifting down in those five minutes?

Similar thing but probably less important, I recently got a B2650 and I've noticed if I raise the backhoe boom to the top, drop the transport hook, and continue to run the tractor without ever touching the backhoe, it's not too terribly long before the backhoe boom is resting on the hook. That in itself is not a problem to me, but it's caught my attention a little just because on my old BX23, if I inserted the transport pin but didn't actually rest the boom on the pin, I don't think the backhoe boom ever drifted down and put tension on the pin until I shut off the tractor and lowered the boom into the pin.

Sorry maybe should of been more clear. I had my forks on the FEL and it was mostly the lift cylinders dropping about 6 or so inches every five minutes. A very slight drift in the curl cylinders but not bad.
