Hi, Just for fun I put together the attached PDF (updated to correct the B2601 length property) ... was looking at what I thought were roughly the same frame and hp sized options out there relative to a B2601HSD-1 ... which I own and love. For me my B model strikes the right balance of size/weight/hp plus subjectives like my local dealer strength, made by kubota front to back, etc.

I left out a few brands ... again, subjective but did not include bobcat (since it is essentially a Kioti?) ... and ... I clubbed Branson under the TYM banner and just went with the T25 there ...

One other omission is FEL lift capacity ... I might get to that another time ...

I know much of this can be found on tractordata but wanted to put the info into a single table .. .again just for fun.

Did my research before buying my B using similar stats. Just used Deere and Kubota though. The biggest factor you left out of your comparison is price.

This is true. Price is what tipped the scales from green to orange. The green equivalent would have cost me a little over $4000 more.

Hi, yes, intentionally left out price as ... it can be such a varying thing ... based in part on current market conditions, marketing incentives, dealer inventory, dealer cash flow positions, interest rates, etc. etc. However, armed with the features comparison of interest to the buyer, one can have a more fulsome pricing discussion ... e.g. am I getting more for my money - or not? (again, based on the properties of interest). Hth

Hi, thank you for posting ... I like the x/y axis choice you made better than mine :) for the spreadsheet itself. Have a few more things to add ... properties/features as well as competitors ... (e.g. I feel a bit guilty for not including LS) ...

"The green equivalent" is a moveable feast, depending on what features you care about. The 1025R is a bit bigger than the BX, it arguably competes a bit with the BX (it's the smallest green) and a bit with the B2601 (similar price, some capacities are closer to the B2601). The 2025R is arguably between the B2601 and the LX2610.

I see this as a good thing - it gives "half steps" for those who need them. But when people say "the 1025R lifts more than the BX" I usually would say "buy a B2601 if you want to lift more." Same argument if they're cross shopping the 2025R and the B2601 - you really need the LX2610 in that mix too, and it does quite a bit more than the 2025R, often at a similar price.

Really it comes down to preference of colour, dealer, and a handful of features that are important to you. Some on here would never buy a BX because it has no position control, others would never use a position control and don't care. For some people the 3 speed transmission on the B2601 is critical, others couldn't care at all, and have a different feature on the green that's critical to them.

In my case it was the 3025E. If it had made financial sense I would have bought it. Don't care about color and there is a dealer of each (also Mahindra and Massey) within 30 minutes. I lined up the two and compared. JD simply wanted more. They also wouldn't do 72 months at 0% which made the JD that much more.

3025E is a bit bigger than a B2601 I think - more LX or even a bit bigger than that? They never line up exactly. I think at each size point, in most markets, JD are a bit more expensive. I also personally like Kubota more.

When I got my B 2601, I really wanted B 2650.. but alas when I went to buy the 2650 were no more and they had no idea when they would get an LX in and they gave me a really good deal on th B FEL bucket and grapple and MMM. I have since added 2 inch spacers that seem to have made a difference

Just from a quick look, I don't believe you got all of the data correct or who you got it from didn't. For instance, the wheelbase on the Deere and Kubota are about the same but the Deere is a lot longer on your chart.

Here's a comparison between B2601, B2650, and JD2025. He sells used tractors and is not a JD or Kubota dealer.

Hi, Thanks for checking ... yep .. it is as you say .. about the same (within a 1 or 2 inches) wheelbase ...

UPDATE: So, after checking my manual, it lists the length B2601 without the 3pt hitch ... I've just measured it and ... the 3pt hitch adds about 12 inches or so .. thus ... I've updated my table and the B2601 now lists out about the same (within a couple/three inches or so) as the rest of the tractors on the list ... thanks again for checking ...

Correct. I was referring to why I went with Kubota. Not comparing the 2601 to the 3025
