B26 Hydralic thumb installation

I just picked up a B26 thumb kit. The instructions that came with the kit aren't the best.

Should I put the bucket on the ground and disconnect the Hydralic lines of the backhoe from the machine before attaching the thumb lines?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Extend the backhoe so you can feed your thumb lines through without any bends.

The hoe is already plumbed from the factory and also came with the foot pedal.

The only thing I need to add is the actual thumb and cylinder, which has 2 small hoses.
