Anyone know, or have any idea where to find what clearance dimension should be for the A-arm when it swings over the axle? I never noticed before the bolt connecting the drag link (tie rod end) to the A-arm broke. After repairing the drag link everything worked for a couple hours then the bolt snapped off again. However, this time there were obvious signs of contact on top of the axle. There were no signs of contact the 1st time in broke. Thinking the A-arm was bent, although it showed no signs of being bent, I tried to bend it away from the axle. 1st with a Rock Bar, then by removing it and putting it in my vice. No luck either time. That little A-arm is stout! Currently with everything in place there is only about 1/8” of clearance from the end of the bolt to the top of the axle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If i understand what your asking:
Should the green part hit, absolutely not.
Is it the yellow part being bent highly unlikely, and don't try and bend it it's cast they don't bend they break.

You would be more likely to be having an issue with this joint causing the arm to hit the housing.

Thank you for the information. The green bolt is what hit the top of the axle housing after my initial repair. There were no signs of that happening the 1st time the bolt broke, but it is possible. I understand the yellow part is cast. I simply, carefully applied some pressure to determine if it could have been bent. I agree with you that it was not bent. Although I am not familiar with the bevel joint that you are referring to, I appreciate the suggestion and will definitely look into it before I attempt using the tractor again. Definitely don’t need it breaking a third time.
