B1750 pressure in HST

During my pre-start checks I noticed that there was a noticable pressure release when I removed the HST dipstick and the level was higher than usual (it usually sits about half way up the stick and hadn't moved since the last fluid change).

The fluid looks normal - no contamination that I can see. I took it for a short run and everything runs fine. I checked the dipstick again after switching off and it was pressurized again.

Any thoughts or advise would be appreciated.

Lets be clear if I understand you.... actually the pressure you are seeing is in the transmission case not the HST unit.

I would expect there is a vent which is blocked.

Part #210 is the vent and # 220 is the vent cover.
